DSM-5
On October 7, 2016, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) issued Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Services (MHSUDS) Information Notice No. 16-051. This notice directed MHSUDS providers to implement the use of DSM-5 diagnosis and corresponding ICD-10 code within their clinical, open record documentation by April 1, 2017.
Contra Costa County Alcohol and Other Drug Services have revised the following forms to show that the DSM-5 diagnosis code and the corresponding ICD-10 code are documented for Alcohol and Other Drug System of Care treatment providers.

CalAIM
Right care, right place, right time.
DHCS developed California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), a broad-based delivery system and program and payment reform initiative that leverages Medicaid to address the complex challenges facing California's most vulnerable residents, such as people experiencing homelessness, those needing behavioral health care access, children with complex medical conditions, people with justice involvement and significant clinical needs, and the aging population.
