If you need food immediately, please call the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano at 855-309-FOOD (3663) or visit the Food Bank website for help. The Food Bank will tell you the closest food pantry, free hot meals, food and produce distributions.

CalFresh (formerly Food Stamps)

For emergencies, you have a right to CalFresh benefits within 3 days if your monthly gross income is less than $150 and you have less than $100 in cash, checking or savings. Call CalFresh 1-877-505-4630 or visit the office closest to your city.

Food Pantries aim to provide food bags to last one to three days. The pantries are located in many churches and some community centers. The hours, locations and requirements to receive the food vary, so it is best to call the food bank 855-309-FOOD (3663) to get a referral to the food pantry that would best meet your needs.

Free Hot Meals (Soup Kitchens)

Free Hot Meals (Soup Kitchens) provide free meals to anyone who comes in during meal hours. Some soup kitchens expect recipients to attend a religious service before the meal is served. Menus vary, although each soup kitchen tries to offer balanced meals. Call the food bank at 855-309-FOOD (3663) to get a referral to the soup kitchen that would best meet your needs.
