Media Conference Tuesday to Discuss Reducing COVID-19 Risk in Contra Costa

Tuesday, November 17, 2020

WHAT

Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) will hold a media conference to update the public about COVID-19 transmission data in the county and health advice for keeping safe and healthy during the holiday season.

The previously scheduled "Testing for Turkey" media availability will begin at the same location at 11 a.m. Families getting tested together in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday and health experts will be available to discuss the importance of getting tested before any gathering involving people from different households.

WHERE:

2500 Bates Avenue, Concord. In the parking lot near the North Concord COVID-19 testing site.

Editors: We ask media partners to enter the lot from Sprig Drive (west side) to avoid the COVID-19 testing site lines.

WHEN:

Testing for Turkey begins at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, followed by a press conference at 11:30 a.m.

WHO:

Contra Costa County Health Officer Dr. Chris Farnitano and other community health experts.

WHY:

COVID-19 is surging across the state and in Contra Costa, and California has moved our county into the purple tier of its Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Now more than at any point during the pandemic, Contra Costa residents should consider how to best protect themselves and their families.

Visit covid19.ca.gov for more information about the state health guidelines, and state data regarding COVID-19.
