Farmers' Market returns to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center on May 7

What:

Spring weather means the return of the farmers' market at Contra Regional Medical Center in Martinez. The hospital and Contra Costa Certified Farmers' Markets Inc. will kick off their second year offering healthy, locally sourced food each week through the rest of spring and summer. Health information also will be available and the first market will include free asthma screenings.

Who:

The market is open to the public and features locally grown seasonal produce, including organics, from small family farms, delicious prepared foods from local businesses, live music and on-site massage. Customers can also pick up brochures on nutrition and recipes for healthy dishes.

When:

Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays beginning May 7

Where:

In front of Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, 2500 Alhambra Ave., Martinez
