Community volunteers are needed for a one-day event that helps hundreds of homeless people in Contra Costa County receive services that otherwise might not have been available to them. Project Homeless Connect 4, sponsored by Contra Costa Health Services and the City of Richmond, connects people who are experiencing homelessness with food, medical and dental care, substance abuse programs, shelters and more. The success of the event depends largely on community volunteers. Donations are also being accepted.
Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to volunteer. Volunteer registration forms are available online at www.cchealth.org or by calling 925-313-6124. Forms must be received by June 8.
Project Homeless Connect 4 will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17. Volunteers are needed on June 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. and on June 17 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers are asked to serve at least a half-day.
