Contra Costa Health Services' (CCHS) AIDS Program has funding available for agencies interested in providing HIV risk reduction and counseling services for men who have sex with men in Contra Costa. Successful applicants will use the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's proven RESPECT model. Up to $40,000 in funds is available for the first program year (July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010). Additional funding will be made available for services in 2010-2013.
Applicants for funding can include medical clinics/offices or nonprofit community-based organizations that have experience in working with men who have sex with other men.
Application materials are available on the CCHS website, www.cchealth.org, or by calling the AIDS Program at 925-313-6771. Completed applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. May 29 to the AIDS Program, 597 Center Avenue, Suite 200, Martinez, CA 94553, or by email to email@example.com. Awards will be announced by June 15.
CCHS hopes to identify and reduce the number of new HIV infections in Contra Costa County. Get Ready, Get Healthy—a television show produced by CCHS&mdashwill discuss HIV prevention with an emphasis on men at 7:30 p.m. on May 25 and 10:30 a.m. on May 28. The show will air on Contra Costa Television (Channel 27 for Comcast and Channel 32 for Astound).
