Follow this link for air-conditioned county buildings open to the public Wednesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 211 or check your city's web page for information about other places to stay cool near you. Free H1N1 & Seasonal Flu Vaccine Clinic in Contra Costa County

What

Contra Costa Health Services will hold its fourth community flu clinic on Sunday, December 6 at the Pittsburg Health Center, 2311 Loveridge Road in Pittsburg.

The walk-up clinic will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and both H1N1 and seasonal flu shots will be offered to priority groups as supplies last.

Medical and non-medical volunteers are urgently needed to assist at the clinic. People interested in volunteering should contact Mike McMillan at mmcmillan@hsd.cccounty.us or 925-313-6859.

Who

The clinics are intended for people living in Contra Costa County. Only people in the following priority groups will receive vaccine.

H1N1 vaccine:

  • Pregnant women
  • Children ages 6 months through 4 years
  • Children who are between 5 years and 18 years with chronic medical conditions (including asthma, diabetes, heart disease and others)
  • People who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months of age (parents, siblings and daycare providers)

Seasonal flu vaccine:

  • People 60 years and older
  • Pregnant women
  • People 4 years and older with chronic medical conditions
