Residents to Learn Pedestrian and Bike Safety Strategies

What

Free "Monument Corridor Walkability Workshop" in English and Spanish will provide the Concord community with information about creating pedestrian and bicycle safe streets. Participants will be encouraged to discuss their vision of safe streets and a livable community.

Who

Popular walkability expert and certified planner Paul Zykofsky of the Local Government Commission will be the presenter. Mr. Zykofsky is fluent in English and Spanish. Interested residents and business owners are encouraged to attend.

The workshops are sponsored by the Monument Community Partnership, Contra Costa Health Services, the City of Concord and Kaiser Permanente. Funding provided by the California Kids' Plates Program

Why

To help participants learn about reducing bicycle and pedestrian collisions and increase the bikeability and walkability through street design and pedestrian-oriented development. This workshop will help participants prepare for the upcoming Redevelopment Plan for Monument Boulevard.
