Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) recommends everyone take steps to stay safe and healthy in the hot weather forecast for inland communities today through the weekend. Follow this link for air-conditioned county buildings open to the public Wednesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 211 or check your city's web page for information about other places to stay cool near you. Community members are invited to attend a FREE Quilting and Stitchery Bee

Community members are invited to attend a FREE Quilting and Stitchery Bee. Participants will learn the art of quilt making, knitting and crocheting and will provide underserved breast cancer patients and other seriously ill adults with lap quilts.

The event is free and all quilt-making supplies will be provided.

Light refreshments will be provided.


This event is sponsored by Contra Costa Health Services, the Mt. Diablo Medical Center and the Raging Light Quilt Project.

The Quilting and Stitchery Bee is part of the Blankies for Grown-ups project.

No experience necessary.


Saturday, February 12
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants are not required to stay the full time.
