Limited English Assistance Program (LEAP)
Our MissionWe provide language assistance to help limited English speakers use health care resources to evaluate and improve the health of the newly arriving refugees and asylees. Services focuses on assisting persons in accessing needed medical care. We provide: assistance with insurance applications and resources; information on medical resources in the community and assistance with transportation resources. Health Interpreters are Cultural AdvocatesWho is a Refugee?Refugee status is granted by the President and Congress of the United States. A Refugee is any person who is unable to return to his or her own country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. Our Health Care Services for Refugees include:Outreach, health screenings, health education, immunizations, tuberculosis follow-up and care, referrals to health and human services, interpretation, and health advocacy.
