Prenatal Care Guidance

Prenatal Care Guidance (PCG) is a bilingual (English/Spanish) home visiting program. PCG's primary goal is to help pregnant women obtain early and continued prenatal care. All services are free and provided regardless of immigration status.

Who is Eligible for PCG?

PCG serves low-income, Medi-Cal-eligible pregnant women and their babies (up to 15-months of age). Women must be pregnant at the time of referral.

What Services Does PCG Provide?

A. Assistance in applying for Medi-Cal and related programs to help pay for:

Pregnancy care, including doctor and hospital bills
Special tests as needed
The new baby's medical care

B. Help finding a doctor or health center that provides:

Complete prenatal care
Delivery of the baby
Newborn care
Postpartum follow-up

C. Visits to the home to:

Listen to the mother-to-be - her plans, her concerns, her needs
Make referrals to WIC or other services the family might need
Provide education about pregnancy, nutrition, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, infant care, and parenting
