Shelter Plus Care Program

Purpose

The Shelter Plus Care Program provides rental assistance for homeless persons with disabilities in connection with supportive services.

What we offer

Shelter Plus Care (S+C) is a program designed to provide permanent supportive housing for homeless persons with mental health disabilities, alcohol and other drugs disabilities, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), or chronic physical conditions, and their families, who are living in places not intended for human habitation (e.g., streets) or in emergency shelters. In response to the needs of the homeless population with disabilities, the program allows for a variety of county-wide housing and supportive services choices.

Cost

Participants pay 30% of their monthly-adjusted income for rent.
