Change in Media Meeting Location to Richmond for Homeless Count

URGENT:

Meeting location and time for media interested in covering the Homeless Count has been changed to GRIP (Greater Richmond Interfaith Program) Resource Center, 165 22nd Street in Richmond on January 26 at 7:30 a.m.

What:

Contra Costa Health Services' Homeless Program staff and community volunteers will set out on a countywide mission on January 26 to collect data on the county's homeless population.

When:

The count will take place countywide from 6 to 8 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

Why:

The count assists the Homeless Program observe trends in homelessness and ensure Contra Costa receives adequate federal support for homeless services and housing. On any given night approximately 4,000 adults, youths and children are homeless in Contra Costa. More information about the count is available online at www.cchealth.org.
