Information and a display about the county Industrial Safety Ordinance and how it applies to industry in Martinez, along with viewing of the Contra Costa Health Services Hazardous Materials Response truck, will be open to the public at the Farmer's Market in Martinez.
Sunday, September 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
600 block of Main Street in downtown Martinez
The Hazardous Materials Response truck and Industrial Safety Ordinance display and information are presented by the Hazardous Materials Programs of Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS), the county health department, regarding Tesoro Golden Eagle Refinery, Shell Martinez Refinery, and Air Products plants at these two refineries.
"Many people in Martinez may have questions about how safe the refineries and chemical plants in this area are, including the Shell and Tesoro refineries," said Randy Sawyer, Director of Hazardous Materials Programs for CCHS. "We'll be at the Farmer's Market to answer questions and distribute information about how safety audits and other elements of the Industrial Safety Ordinance protect residents and workers in Contra Costa County."
