Health Advisory Lifted for Pittsburg and Antioch

The health advisory for Pittsburg and Antioch has been lifted. The advisory was issued for people with respiratory sensitivities this morning after a chemical release at Dow Chemical in Pittsburg. Contra Costa HazMat staff are investigating the incident. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

The Joint Commission conducts periodic unannounced accreditation surveys of Contra Costa Regional Medical Center & Health Centers. The purpose of these surveys is to evaluate Contra Costa Hospital and the Clinics compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. Survey results are used to determine whether, the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to the organization. The last survey was in December 2010 at which time the hospital received The Joint Commission Gold Seal and full accreditation for 39 months.
