Comfort Pillows for Surgical Patients

If you have a sewing machine and enjoy sewing, CCRMC Volunteer Services could really use your expertise.

The recovery pillows enhance the experience for surgical patients during their recovery while in the hospital and when they go home to heal. Following most surgeries, patients are required to perform coughing and deep breathing exercises to prevent respiratory complications. This can be an extremely uncomfortable experience and the recovery pillows provide relief, protection of the surgical site and simple comfort.

On average CCRMC distributes approximately 3,000 patient recovery pillows a year, all of which are sewn and donated by volunteers and generous community organizations.

If you are interested in helping or donating needed materials please see our pattern, instructions and items needed.
