The Position
The Contra Costa Health Services Department is seeking an Assistant Health Services Systems Director-Application Software to be responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating software application development and support activities for in-house and vendor based systems. Applicants with experience in managing the analysis, design, development and implementation of healthcare software will find a challenging and rewarding opportunity supervising a staff of 40 in our integrated Health Services Organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, computer science, management information systems or a closely related field.
Experience: Four years of full-time (or its equivalent) experience in programming and systems analysis for a Health Services agency which included two years at either the project management and/or supervisory level. Experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server and Windows 2000 or 2003 Operating Systems preferred.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.

2. Oral Interview (Weighted 100%): The examination will consist of an oral interview conducted by a Qualifications Appraisal Board in Martinez, California. Candidates must receive an overall score of at least 70 from a majority of the Board to be ranked on the employment list.
The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
