Health Advisory Lifted for Pittsburg and Antioch

The health advisory for Pittsburg and Antioch has been lifted. The advisory was issued for people with respiratory sensitivities this morning after a chemical release at Dow Chemical in Pittsburg. Contra Costa HazMat staff are investigating the incident. More information will be posted as it becomes available.


Individuals interested in Permanent Supportive Housing must meet all of the following criteria in order to qualify:

  • Homeless, or at-risk of becoming homeless

  • Age 18 years or older

  • Living with at least one disabling condition
    This may include, but is not limited to: chronic mental illness, HIV/AIDS, developmental and physical disabilities, and disabilities related to substance abuse.

  • Have a verifiable income, which may include any regular income or benefits received by adult member(s) of the household.

  • Income must be at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI) as defined by HUD, which will be verified by the Contra Costa County Homeless Program.

Applicants must provide documentation verifying their eligibility for Permanent Supportive Housing, in addition to completing their application in full, before they will be considered for housing.
