Health Advisory Lifted for Pittsburg and Antioch

The health advisory for Pittsburg and Antioch has been lifted. The advisory was issued for people with respiratory sensitivities this morning after a chemical release at Dow Chemical in Pittsburg. Contra Costa HazMat staff are investigating the incident. More information will be posted as it becomes available.


The EBMUD RARE is designed to provide tertiary treatment of effluent from the West County Wastewater District in order to provide Chevron Refinery with water suitable for industrial process use. The treatment process will include micro filtration and reverse osmosis and will use aqueous ammonia which is a CalARP regulated material.
