Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote and protect the health and well being of the individual, family and community in Contra Costa County.

We give special attention to those communities and populations most at risk for poor health outcomes and those most affected by environmental inequities.
We use a broad spectrum of strategies and an array of services to accomplish our mission.
We do this as a part of an integrated health system.
We define health to be the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (World Health Organization definition).
