Family, Maternal & Child Health (FMCH) Programs


About FMCH

FMCH Programs are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of families and children through innovative partnerships with families, community members, county programs, and community-based organizations. To accomplish this mission, our work involves collecting and analyzing data to:

  • Identify high priority needs,
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate programs designed to improve health outcomes, and
  • Provide training and technical assistance to groups throughout the county on issues of perinatal health.

Life Course Initiative

The mission of the Life Course Initiative is to reduce disparities in birth outcomes and change the health of the next generation in Contra Costa County by achieving health equity, optimizing reproductive potential, and shifting the paradigm of the planning, delivery, and evaluation of maternal, child, and adolescent health services.
