The Innovation Workgroup is an ad hoc committee of the Consolidated Planning Advisory Workgroup (CPAW), and meets as needed. The Innovation Workgroup is comprised of members appointed from CPAW, and represent mental health consumers, family members, providers and others. Members of the public are welcome to attend Innovation Workgroup meetings, and are given an opportunity to provide public comment and input during the meeting.
The Workgroup was charged with (revised 9/2/10):Establish a process for submission and review of innovation ideas
Once funding is approved and allocated to the Mental Health Division, it is recognized that Innovation projects may be generated based upon the planning process established, and the approved Innovation Plan. It was acknowledged that many of the initial innovative ideas may create the need for an ongoing and cyclical process for approval of future Innovation projects. The time-limited nature of the Innovative Projects (as established by the State DMH Guidelines) will result in new projects being implemented in the future.
