Board of Supervisors authorizes execution of contract with AMR

June 28, 2005 - The Board of Supervisors has approved and authorized the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with American Medical Response (AMR) to provide ambulance services in accordance with specified rates for the period July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2010, including an extension through June 30, 2014 subject to a Board finding that AMR is in compliance with contract requirements and standards; and authorizing the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute a one-month extension of the current contract with AMR in the event that the proposed new contract cannot commence on July 1, 2005.

Board of Supervisors Approves AMR To Continue Providing Emergency Ambulance Services

February 15, 2005 - The Board of Supervisors at its February 15, 2005 meeting approved American Medical Response to continue providing emergency ambulance service in Contra Costa County.


Response To Information Request from Board of Supervisors

February 11, 2005 - Supplementary information (1.4MB PDF, 50pp.) from AMR and StarWest requested by the Board of Supervisors at its February 1, 2005 meeting and continued for Board consideration Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Both AMR and StarWest have been invited to make presentations to the Board at that time.


Health Services Director recommendation to Board of Supervisors on ambulance service proposals

January 28, 2005 - The final recommendation from the Health Services Director, Dr. Walker, is to enter into negotiations with American Medical Response West to provide emergency ambulance service in Contra Costa County. The recommendation (120kb PDF, 6pp.) will be presented to the Board of Supervisors at their meeting on February 1, 2005. The meeting begins at 9:30am.

Preliminary recommendation

December 6, 2004 - The preliminary recommendation from the Health Services Director, Dr. Walker, is to enter into negotiations with American Medical Response West to provide emergency ambulance service in Contra Costa County. A final recommendation will be made after review of any protests that may be received during the 5-day protest period. The final recommendation will be made to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration.

November 22, 2004 - The announced method for scoring the proposals, the medican score, has resulted in a tie between the two proposals. Once the detailed scoring report is received, the Health Services Director, Dr. Walker, will make a preliminary recommendation. Proposers will then have a 5-day period to file a protest before a final recommendation is made to the Board of Supervisors.
